About Us

Micaela Alvarez Perez is the Veredas micro loan coordinator. She has a Masters degree in Social Anthropology and has been working in sustainable development in Mexico and Guatemala since 1983. She is currently a professor at the Intercultural University in San Cristobal. Her special interest is gender and the role of women in development.

Sarah A. Daggett is Vereda’s multi-media and technology consultant

Anita Smart is a co-founding board member of the Pathways Project, the Director of Veredas Chiapas and the Executive Director of the International Humanitarian Foundation. She has lived and worked in Chiapas since 1987.

Cheryl Doel is the co-founder and President of The Pathways Project, U.S.-based, 501-c3 non-profit that is the primary funding source for Veredas.
